Daisy, Daisy

Since no one was working on our house again today, I decided to do a bit of painting. I got a foamy stamp from Michael's and painted white acrylic paint on it and stamped it on the walls to make a daisy border for the craft room. The daisies will need to be painted over at least once more with a paintbrush, but the stamp gives the outline of how to paint the daisies. And I think I'm going to make the centers a bit darker yellow than the wall color. There's a few corners where I'll have to hand paint the daisies. Stamps don't fold in half so good.
I also measured for where the border needs to go in the girls' room, so all I have to do now is put it up.

Only The Lonely

Only one lonely painter at our house today. Finishing up the yellow.
Tile is coming on Wednesday, and railing on Friday, so stay tunned for more.

Wooded Area

They finished up installing the hardwood, and it looks great! This is the kitchen, - even the pantry - the dining room, (the living room gets carpet)
the front entrance,
and the hallway from the mudroom.
Here's the powder room.
Graham and Ami came and finished up the outside trim. It was nice and sunny! Not so much sun in the forecast, so they came out today.

Floored

The hardwood floor is going in today!
They'll be able to get it done all in one day.
We got gutters sometime recently, though we don't really know when!
Sometime on Thursday or earlier, because they're in the picture of the painted garage door, we just didn't notice it!

Mellow Yellow

The painters came and painted some yellow! This is the craft room,
the guest room (aka Grandma's room!)
and the laundry room.
This is the feature over the island.
The great room is all cleaned up because tomorrow comes the hardwood!

More Color

The garage door is now painted the same color as the siding.
The master bedroom got another coat of paint
and so did the office.
The mudroom is also painted now.
Here's the powder room.
Still waiting for that yellow... maybe today?

More Color In My World

The master bedroom is blue, and I love how it looks! Well, I'll love how it will look once it's had another coat or two of paint.
The ceiling is so big and white that I don't think the dark paint makes the room look too dark.
And there's burgundy paint in the office! It's a little more brown-ish than I was originally thinking, but it does go with the hardwood floor a lot better. Not that there's going to be wood floor in that room, but you can still see it at the same time. And we didn't want to make it too pink-ish, so this works good.
Amy's back painting the trim again today. She did the trim around the garage door,
and the windows and doors on the main level.

On The Road Again

I didn't make it out to the house yesterday because they were paving the road. They put the top layer of asphalt on our little lane, now that consctuction is about wrapped up. Much nicer now.
Now that it's warmer (a little, anyway) and sunny Amy came by to finish painting the trim.
The fascia, belly band, corner board and base boards are Tuscany Green. Trim around windows and doors will be Carington Beige.
The mudroom benches got painted. Here's the girls side:
and the grown-up side:
They're putting the finishing touches on the first coat of paint inside.
Getting in there with a paint brush where the sprayer can't get.
There's still some patching that's getting done before the second coat goes on.
No new paint colors yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Color My World

Color has finally arrived to our house! The painters painted the girls' room,
the girls' bathroom,
the ensuite,
the upstairs hallway,
and the main floor, except for the mudroom and office.
The mud room benches are finished. This is the girls' side
and this is the adults side. It's higher so that Darcy can fit his work boots underneath. The cubby holes still need shelves, but other than that it's all built.
the base boards that will go around the hardwood got painted, too.

I Got To...

...listen to jack hammers and backhoes all day long today. Good times. Yep, they're digging up our road.
They're also replacing the dead shrubberies. With such good drainage underneath us we'll have to make sure we water them alot so they don't go dying on us again.
It didn't look like much was going on today. I didn't see the finish carpenter's truck, cuz he wasn't there. But the painters were!
They painted the doors,
the wainscoting,
the beadboard,
the baseboard,
the crown moulding
and the archway.
